We should call it the passive aggressive board. :P

What's everybody up to that's intellectually stimulating tonight? I just got halfway through my Dragon Scale pattern scarf that I'm knitting. Sweetness!

Oh, a little off subject. But I'll get back on

I wanted to explain my profile pic, because both of you commented on it, and the comments don't work for some... (TWT bugs). On my 18th birthday two of my best friends, and one of their sisters came with me to Ben & Jerry's to try and tackle The Vermonster! Whoa, never again. It melted way too quickly, and turned into a big mass of melted ice cream with floating islands of brownies, bananas, and cookies. Big waste of $34.00.

Back on subject. Yes, some of the topics we talk about may seem banal. But I consider you guys friends, and I share every little detail of my life with my friends. Hell, I talk to you guys more then my friends now since college has started (no one from my graduating class goes the same college that do). I don't get why people are just so... mean. It's Travisland for christ sakes! Spread the Luv!

Why don't we start a third board for the people who have all these expectations and rules regarding threads? They have to be stimulating, controversial, not seek advice, you have to yell and curse and call each other names, cannot talk about your children, your defense can always be "oh, I didn't know I wasn't allowed to disagree with you", and oh yeah, you hardly ever start threads yourself.

It's not about not rocking the boat. It's about acting the same way in here that you would if we were having a face to face conversation.

Word! The same people complaining about this board never post anything profound. They log in to make fun of people, act like complete rude asses and then take off until they find the next opportunity to pick on someone for no reason. I've been quiet for too long...for some reason that post just put me over the edge...I'm just so sick of the bullies on this board. I really don't think the band appreciates it either, to be honest.

How much Icecream does this consist of and how many friends would I need to eat it successfully?? Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Did anybody see that program on the Food Chanel about Designing your own ice cream for Haagen daaz (whatever ;) contest? The winner was "Sticky Toffee Pudding" and dear lord is it GOOOOOD.

I just got home from band pratice and am just trying to wind down before I go to bed. We have a gig Friday- our first since May (we took the summer off). EDIT: I think it'll be rough but there's nothing to do except get back in the saddle.

The link tells you everything it has in it. But I will tell you it has 20 scoops of ice cream, comes in a bucket, and it takes more then 4 teenage girls to finish... way more.

Am I just daft (hehehe our English friend influence) or is this the first time you've mentioned being in a band, Anne? Are you the self-contained policemen. BTW, I have written that name down somewhere, I thought that was hilarious.

Els, I've never heard of the Vermonster. Thanks for the wiki link. That is a beast! I read someone ate one in 8 1/2 minutes. Blerg!

Uhhh...I don't think it was a switched post. I think Moz thought it was but then he came back and continued to act like a complete rude ass...so I don't think it was switched. Maybe Moz just thought it was because he didn't understand how anyone could be so damn rude to someone out of the blue like that.

I really hope it was switched. And if so, I apologize...but I don't think it was by the way he came back and continued to be rude.

I love love love that you appreciate my Self-Contained Policemen name!! I don't remember anyone commenting on that so I thought boardies had the same reaction as everyone else, "uh...ok".

I've probably mentioned it before but not much since we haven't been practicing or performing. I do BGVs (background vocals). That is perfect for me right now because it's not as much pressure. I don't have to come to every practice and even if I can't do a gig they can do it without me. I'm really good friends with the singer and our voices blend together really well. We have a good time together. I enjoy getting to make up all sorts of funky harmonies.

We're probably going to record some stuff soon. She did an album before I started singing with her but the songs she has written since then are pretty different so we need to get at least a few songs down.

My husband is also in a band so there are two kids, two jobs, two bands, and three cats that we are juggling right now. Hence, why I like a musical outlet but one that isn't totally pinned on me.
