There are few. For me, 'Virgin Suicides' is a good example. Or 'Dead Poets Society', although in this case the book was based on the script so it's a completely different thing. |

I just finished The Perks of Being a Wallflower - loved it. Now reading Post Office by Charles Bukowski - like it lots so far! |

It was pointed out to me recently that Phillip k Dicks' , A Scanner Darkly was written and based on my neighborhood ....So I started reading it.Good so far |

Oh my goodness! Why have I not read this before now? Can not put it down. Brilliantly written! Great but strange book about a group of college students in Vermont. I can't give the storyline away but the imagery is amazing. |

Yikes...I tried to read this...got a few chapters in and it disturbed me so much I had to put it down!!! :-/ Good if you can stick it, just too disturbing for me. Have you seen the movie? |

The brutality of his peers was harder to take then the blood...I saw the US version liked it |

Re-reading all my Carl Hiaasen books at the moment, they are excellent, caustic and satirical. He really does have a knack for describing the scum of this earth.
On Strip Tease at the moment, seriously you should read this book it is so much better than the shitty film with Demi Moore.

I liked A scanner darkly alot so I've read a few other Philip K Dick books . I made a point of picking ones I haven't seen as a movie

Just finishing Graham Swift's "Wish You Were Here". I've read a few of his books before and loved them, this didn't disappoint, either. |

I stuck with it cos it gets decent reviews and wasn't too long, thanksfully, but Rose the protagonist drove me mad. Some parts were skillfully written; others were a bit meh. |
