I didn't feel offended :) I just think you're wrong ;) But that's my crappy opinion, right? ;)
If I had the time to do it - I'd love to go through every page of that (in my opinion) "book of lies" as through the Koran and the Mormon's book etc.
Alone to show - what people see. Pretty much of the Christians (over here) don't even know what's written in the bible - but when someone quotes something they tend to believe it word by word...which is kinda insane - again: to me -
So I guess when you've got a hobby - than this one is pretty useful :)
I've never met one single atheist who gives a damn about preaching. This here is discussion - not preaching - right??
I'd love to here some arguments against our "theory" - so that it can be a real discussion -but it is and stays a discussion :)
I have friends believing in God - if I'd be preaching them what to do...well they weren't my friends anymore :)
But they took me to their churches and all - well ok - if they want to? :)
But remember I've got still a demon in me...
(I've finally seen "the exorcist" now :) What a fun....a bit ugly though...-both priests die in the end, right?)
;) Relax and enjoy the last bit of the weekend :)

Quote: But seriously dude, you can't deny that you're just a little bit preoccupied with tearing apart and poking fun at religion.
That may or may not be true - all you can realistically comment on is the ratio of atheist to non-atheist posts i've made on one sparsely populated forum where only a couple of dozen people visit.
If I 'tear apart' religeon, it is almost purely because most of them have gone anywhere in the region of one to three thousand years of being compeltely unquestioned, declaring themselves with no evidence to be unfaltering, being consistenyl unwavering and hypocritical, refusing to look at anything from another angle, taking everything written in a book written at arbitrary times by questionable people to be completely literal.
Atheism is not a religeon - whether we have beliefs or not, your original statement is that we are basically a religeon. We are almost entirely the opposite of a religeon. We certainly don't use terrorism literally or spiritually to force people to agree with us. We also are capable of seeing our own logical holes and wavers and rebuilding our understanding, according to reason, understanding, compassion, neutrality, and freedom. |
