I don't really know but I think they originated here.
Edit: According to Wiki (which is "always" true!) "Rice Krispie treats were invented in 1939 by Mildred Day and the staff at the Kellogg Company home economics department"

i dont think rice crispie squares are canadian, but they are delicious!
You dont really need a recipe...rice crispies, marshmallows, vanilla, butter. melt and squish together
