I think Long Way Down is quite different from The Importance of being idle. 2 different planets.
I personally don't like that Oasis song but seems like LWD is more rocky and has a very refined coda which makes it far from TIOBI.

No common ground IMO

Ok, I'm a fan of Oasis, but I have to admit I'd never heard "The Importance of Being Idle" before. After watching the video on YouTube today, I have to admit I like it a lot. Cool song. Although, I like "Long Way Down" a lot more. I really don't see at all how "Long Way Down" is LESS cohesive than "The Importance". If anything, "Long Way Down" is a much, much tighter, more cohesive song. I'm sure Fran wasn't "pissed"...but I can see why this would upset him a bit or just make him go "Wha?!?"...especially when the band worked so hard to make this album VERY cohesive with "no fat" as Fran put it. It was just a way out there comment.

Just reading the lyrics, that song looks very Pink Floyd, like Syd Barrett era Floyd. I've never heard it or seen the live version of Long Way Down. But i can't wait to hear it!

c'mon we all make mistakes, I think MoreThanMe just judged very soon the song. And in other hand theres the part of hard working to get one thing to be very cohesive. So, the album has not come out. I'm sure he'll get to see the album as what it is when it comes:-)
BTW, amazing lyrics, can't wait to hear the whole album.
And Are the international dates to be announced soon?

very cool lyrics indeed...

I've heard the song once in the gig in Montreux and I really enjoyed it. I think it could be a single, really catchy and rocky as Something Anything.

I don't think MoreThanMe stating his opinion was a mistake. S'just Fran disagreed with it, and so defended the song. Debating why we think it is unjustified to call Long Way Down incohesive is great, but I don't think we should attack MoreThanMe for having an opinion in the first place, y'know?

No dear, but you most definitely left your ears in a glass by the side of the bed when you come out with that pish.
Importance Of Being Idle!? Pah!

I love the fact Fran is sticking up for the music, because it shows how much they all believe in the new songs.

Seconded.
