No southern hemisphere squirrels? I either did not know that, or had forgotten about that. |

I <3 squirrels so much! There are SO many at my work. I talk to them on a daily basis. I realize that I'm crazy
Aww, lucky you! Send them all my love, please.

Well, it's not a fact at all, just something I gathered from my limited personal experience. I haven't seen any anywhere I've been to, at least (different parts of Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Brazil). I'm sure there must be some somewhere. But they're definitely not as common here as in Europe or North America. Particulary, what wonders me the most is their presence in urban contexts, haha. No chance at all of seeing a squirrel in Buenos Aires.

We have these in large quantities around here. There were 6 chasing each other in my back yard a couple days ago. They were going crazy! They are called gray squirrels, but they are actually more brown than gray.
Gray Squirrel
Just a few miles away from where I live, smaller black squirrels are common, but for some reason, they just don't cross over the city limit to my neighborhood. |
