Wooohoo guys ur great! :)
First show last night. It was great! We didn't skip Side wide open after all but added Sing. It was just.....:AMAZING. We had a great audience and we changed the skript a bit to make it more dramatic - which worked perfectly well: People cried. Think that's a good sign..hope so. Hmm....Weird though, right? Crying as a good sign...
Anyways: Everything went down very smoothly and great. We had some difficulties during soundcheck as one monitor was broken...and like 20 minutes before show my d-string broke. (its always the d-string with me...)
So I had to change to another guitar - without practising. But I came to love it during the show.
And we did film it. But let's see how the other shows go first.
I'm very very happy 'bout all of this. Expectations exceeded |

This is brilliant Nora! When are you taking it on the road? lol. And are you still taking suggestions? I think you should keep Broken Mirror (even if it's shortened), that's a dramatic bit right there. And My Eyes is a nice ending, but you could do a shortened verse that can fade out. Anyway, it sounds very exciting and hopefully you'll put some footage up soon. :) |

It sounds amazing Nora. I'd love to see at least some of it in video and audio. Very clever, and very well put together. It's a beautiful idea, and without having seen or heard any of it, I know you've done a fantastic job. :) |

Awww youguys are the best!!!!!!LOVE YOU!!!! I've got the first video of our first show. And many pics. But will see how the other shows go before I publish the vids. Then I will have to find out how to cut the vids together insert pics and music etc. I have no idea whatsoever how that works out.
It's really cool...the musical. Never thought it'd be so much trouble though....and need so much money... But our town gave us round £2000-3000 since we're doing something for the culture in our home town. Plus we've got instruments/technology worth round £10.000-15.000.
But you gotta know -that's nothing compared to a real concert of a real band that got better technology, monitoring desks etc... so don't get your hopes up concerning the video.
But the audience seemed to be happy so far :)
Here's a peak. Somehow I got not one single picture where everyone is on....: Me conducting - part of our choir.(Think that was soundcheck - cos the choir is not complete..)
In front: Sarah

J.Smith, shattered aftert Sarah gave him the ring back and left their appartement.

Sarah & J.Smith - arguing. Or not. Not talking anymore. "Silent treatment". Some women of you may know this :p

Good & Evil: Their the ones guiding through the whole story.

Dead-J. arguing with fate about...well..fate I guess.

Our sound-tech:

I don't really get this...

Last: Part of our stage. Pretty small stage :(. But there's a side stage - which you can't see at the moment....

Since we used the money for instruments, technology and stuff we did not have too much left for a bigger stage. So this must do.
The stage is built up as mentioned in "Ballad of J.Smith".
With the picture of Sarah on the shelf...and the gin (mind though: At first we did NOT replace it with iced tea though...that was fun! ) and the broken TV with the place station etc.etc. The ring...etc.
Nighty night!
PS: I also need to say that although I had almost 10 months to plan this and arrange the songs, compose choir lines etc. I only had like 8 weeks to rehearse with the band, full solist and choir. And only about 2 weeks (of the 8 above)to rehears with the actors. And only like 1 week to rehears with our technicians. |

Hahah He really is! But his girlfriend (very very nice, funny and full of life) is in the choir :)
Yeah, I am proud. I really love doing this. Though I think after 10 years doing this (well other shows) I stop now and concentrate on university.
But it's been fun and it still is!!! Never thought this would come real some day...
