Yes, I'd like to see them! I'll probably join Facebook this weekend. The peer pressure is astounding. |

My best friend barely ever checks her e-mail anymore because she does everything on FB. I'm starting to feel left out. :o( |

Sorry for the long wait, but here are a few pictures of the Red Wings from the Open House. : )
That's Kirk Maltby, Henrik Zetterberg and backup goalie Ty Conklin on the end.
Zetterberg again
Nick Lidstrom
Pavel Datsyuk
Then we went into the locker room...
And here is my favorite picture I took from the game the following day.
Nick came skating up RIGHT against the glass and stopped to take a pass. :) |

Alex!! Here is your chance to see the Red Wings in person!! :D
The Detroit Red Wings, who currently sport a 26-man roster that includes eight Swedes, are going to Stockholm, Sweden to play in Globe Arena to open the 2009-10 regular season with a pair of games against the St. Louis Blues on Oct. 2 and 3.

Thanks a lot Nikkster, the waiting is over ;)
Great pictures, looks like you were in heaven ;) The last picture of Lidström in action is really awesome, you should get it published :D
Also a big thanks for the tip about the games in Sweden, I think I want to go! A little roadtrip to El Stockholmia, as we call it over here, wouldn't be all that bad :D |

To be honest, I can't be bothered wth NHL most of the time, but my son's really keen. His current team is Calgary Flames (don't ask me why, I don't know). He likes Canada, too. He's a funny Finn (he's half English, maybe that explanes it). |

IT'S ALMOST PLAYOFF TIME!!!!!!!!
As of today:
Detroit Red Wings: 101 points
San Jose Sharks: 100 points
Calgary Flames: 86 points
Ottawa Senators: 66 points (sorry, BLT)
I expect Darran to come back to the board for this. Assistant Kristy, if he's not already lurking and reading this post, please let him know he has to come back for the playoffs.
Oh, and I was just thinking today...the playoffs may start the week we're in Chicago for Travis!!! AHHHHHH! Or very close to it. I will die if I miss a game.
Oh, and one more thing I have to share just cuz it's silly. Jiri Hudler does this to Ozzie after every vicroty. LOL! Hockey players have some strange superstitions!

I was just thinking last night that our thread had all but vanished.
Assistant Kristy will pass along the msg. I don't know if he will come back though.
But really, was it necessary to post the Sens points? Stabbing pain right in my heart! Although they pulled out a lovely SO win on saturday with pretty goalies by Alfie and Comrie.
Yup, playoffs will start the same week as the ABC. I think we are worth it though :) And you can sign up for free NHL alerts on your phone if they are playing Friday/Saturday night when we wont be near a TV/Internet/Radio |

I'm conflicted , should I go loyal to the "gasp " hometeam or the wings ? |

That didn't look like a cluck. It looked like a doggie lick. It makes me uncomfortable.
Ric, you gotta root for the Wings. Obvious. |

I know! It was like 6 or 7 pages back. I had to go search for it, but we will always have the hockey thread! :) IT'S BACK!!
Sorry, Kristy...I didn't know if posting the Sens standings would make you feel bad or if not posting it would make you feel left out! :P
He BETTER come back for the playoffs! He promised if the Flames made it he'd be back! He doesn't have to post in other threads...just this one! We are not turds on this thread. lol.
