You should be proud. That's quite an achievement! I can't seem to lose one pound.

If you want me to tell you what I did I'd be happy to. Just PM me. Hubby lost 40 pounds doing it. I have a friend doing right now. I think she has lost at least 10 in about a month. It is quite strict but it works. Basic math. Consume less calories than you burn = weight loss.

I do want to know big fecking time!! I need to lose about 20kg so that'd be 40/50 pounds!!
Don't we luuuuuve those girly chats.

This thread's great! I loooove weddings- I'm such a girl. We need more pics, married people!

I guess I'm in a minority, but I'd like to have a big, white, traditional wedding. Outside. Yours seems to be perfect, Anne!

Oh and Kayte, I have never heard of anyone having a "theme" wedding before, but I think it's really cool!

I agree 100% with ya, DinoMegg. I've just read through this thread for the first time. I have to admit, I'm sorta obsessed with weddings and I'm always planning mine out in my head...even though I'm not engaged....yet! :P I'd definitely want something romantic and beautiful, but not overly fussy...I'd still want people to party the night away. I think good food and a good band and lots of dancing is important! :)

One of my best friends is getting married at the end of May and I'm a brides maid. She's getting married here in Michigan but currently lives with her fiance and baby in Las Vegas. I give her major props for organizing her entire wedding out of state. The only time she came home was to pick out her wedding dress. I went with her that day and she tried on about 5 and chose the first one she tried on. There is no way I could do that. I'd have to try on like 50! LOL! I'd fear that there was always a better one out there.

PS: More pics!!! :)

You'd be surprised. I can think of tons of friends who ended up picking the first or second one they tried on. Several tortured themselves by still trying on 8797846579634 dresses. I chose the second I tried on. I probably tried on less than 10, left, thought about it, went back with my mom a week later, tried it on for her and we bought it.

OK I am going to pick out some pics right now to scan in for your viewing pleasure.

OK, Nikki asked for pics so here you go. First, these are not very good scans. I am at work so I didn't have time to fiddle with it (I hardly ever scan things in color). Rest assured the actual pics are a better quality. And you'll see a bit of the scanner on some of the sides. hee hee.

This is of the ceremony. You can see the bridesmaids crazy different color dresses. They only went to their knees so they were more party dresses than anything.

Here we are after the ceremony

This is a kind of weird pic of me dancing with my brother-in-law. I don't know why I look so intense and he contrary to the pic, he doesn't normally gape at me. I put it up so you could see the back of my dress and more of my flowery hair.

http://render-2.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6l00%7C%3Dup6RKKt%3Axxr%3D0-qpDofRt7Pf7mrPfrj7t%3DzrRfDUX%3AeQaQxg%3Dr%3F87KR6xqpxQQoexlJJxal0xv8uOc5xQQQGa0P0PP0oaqpfVtB%3F*KUp7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QPna%7CRup6aQQ%7C/of=50,350,442

And to honor the boardie obsession with food, here is my cake. The table with the lights and flowers made it so pretty. The birds on the top of the cake were on top of my in-law's cake so that was fun. We also got married on my parents anniversary but they got divorced a few years ago so now it belongs to us. The cake was chocolate with a bit of coconut in the frosting. It was really delicious.

Here is the groom's cake. I think this has spread but I know the groom's cake thing at least started as a southern U.S. thing (see "Steel Magnolia's" armadillo cake). His was Italian Cream Cake and had chocolate covered strawberries on top. It was also quite tasty. You can also see the bead detail on my dress better.

OK this thread is probably the girliest I have been in a long time. Hair! Dresses! Cakes! Oh my!

I am pretty sure at this point any male reading this thread has thrown up or had a seizure. So since it's just the girls I wanted to post another pic for the only person I "know" who knits things like stingrays and pieces of toast (and then puts it in a toaster for a pic).

I found another one that shows the back of my hair. It's hard to see at this size but can you see how my hair is wrapped in a rosette type circle in the back? She did that and then we put little white roses in about half of those.

Also something else I haven't thought of in years but the photographer brought his fiancee as his assistant and the bridesmaids and I spent most of the evening trying to decide if "she" was a man dressed as a woman, a post-op woman, or just a tall manly woman with a slight Adam's Apple.

Anne, I love seeing your pics. You look so pretty and happy! (This is a very gilie post for me, too.) Here in the North we don't do groom cakes, but I like the idea of 2 cakes at a wedding!
