Shrove tuesday in Helsinki. Drunken students competing of best "sledge". The winner is the disco, complete with bar, VIP lounge and music

Very fancy flipping.
We had pancakes for dinner. I hadn't had anything planned, so when my husband called on the way home and asked what's for dinner, it was the first thing that came to mind--"Ummm, pancakes! We're having pancakes!" |

So did you have savoury pancakes? What did you put with them? I'm really craving them now, think I will have them again at some point this week! |

Cute video!
Kayte, isn't it funny how this board influences us?? I love that you made pancakes because this thread put it in your mind. And as I said in another post, I love breakfast for dinner. |

What are savoury pancakes?
We had just regular plain ol' pancake pancakes with butter and real maple syrup. Not the healthiest meal in the world, but the kiddies loved it. |

Since pancakes over there are thinner and not as cake-like it would be more along the lines of a savory crepe. |

Yup, savoury pancakes are our normal pancakes but stuffed with savoury stuff!! We had veggies (asparagus, mushrooms etc) and a sauce with ours and then pancakes with lemon and sugar for dessert! Yum. |

That all sounds so good. I'm glad I already had lunch (fajita tacos) or I'd be dying. |

It turns out my flatmate and I are totally incompetent at making pancakes... Even using the Blue Peter recipe!!! Gutted. Actually though, I'm impressed I don't have food poisoning. |

I used Delia Smith's recipe, pretty good one
I made three times that portion, and it wasn't quite enough.
