Amandabug wrote: As much as I love TMW, I'm quite done with hearing it live. Last night (Saturday) in NYC, they played EIGHT Man Who songs, and glossed over 12 Memories with just LWCT. That show was be my... I don't know, 27th show? which means I have heard WDIAROM, WTRY, Turn, Driftwood 27 times live! I understand some fans are new and want to hear them but they are doing what's essentially a residency in NYC now and it's a good time to experiment. I don't mean to deprive new fans of the classics, but I would really love it if Frandy could play their own dream setlist -- what they really want to play instead of what they expect fans want to hear. I'd be very interested to know what's on that list.
I agree that it would be nice to hear other songs than just the main hits, especially songs from 12 Memories which are very, very rarely played. That's a shame, as it's a very under rated album. However, Travis do mix their set lists more than most bands (more than any that i know anyway) and so they're very good at that. On this tour they've played loads of songs, and some b-sides they've never played before. I would agree that i'd prefer to hear something different than the obvious ones but i'd also say over all, Travis are very good at mixing it up. :)
I agree that it would be great to hear a dream Frandy set list. I'd love to know what 22 songs THEY would want to play. That'd be very interesting. |

New Amsterdam's a new incorporation into the Frandy setlists! (Right?) Never been a fan of that song myself, but it fits the occasion, doesn't it? :o)
What's The message rap (grandmaster flash)?
I <3 Last Train.
And since I'm here, I agree with everyone who said that they should play more songs from 12 Memories :oP. |

the message is that grandmaster flash + the furious five song that goes "don't push me cos i'm close to the edge/i'm trying not to lose my head..."
the show tonight ended about 35 minutes earlier than saturday's show. they didn't take any requests. not sure why they ended early (or if the saturday show just ran way over time)... maybe it was because clay kept telling fran to "stop singing papa" because he wanted to leave! he must have told fran to stop singing at least 4 times! it was really cute. fran singing my eyes to clay was just the most brillant endearing thing ever.
really happy that they mixed it up a bit tonight (although i still didn't hear something that i hadn't heard before). "last laugh" isn't one of my favorites but i haven't heard it live in such a long time that it was really refreshing. same goes with "last train" (kind of forgot the song even existed).
also pleased they gave "beautiful" a rest tonight. i cringe at every "cute-iful." |

also, tonight was clay's first gig ever, and it seems like his first time hearing the background to my eyes! ("papa wrote this song when you were in mama's belly.") fran described the video to him as "in the video, andy is dressed up as a woman, and papa plays andy's husband. dougle is a doctor and neil is a nurse." |

Is there anything more adorable than that? I don't think so! :) "Stop singing, papa" haha, allow me an expression in Spanish: me muero!!
Thanks for the setlist, btw. It sounds perfect, to be there and listen to New Amsterdam... too bad they had to cut the list shorter at some shows! |
