I haven't heard it yet and I know I won't buy it because I'm not very keen on Coldplay... I can't stand Chris Martin for some reason, don't know why but I can't look at him...

But I always wonder why on earth there is so much publicity for a new Coldplay record. I know they didn't do much for a few years but even then you could read about them everywhere. I don't think they're very special, do you?

Well, like it or not, Coldplay are pretty huge. In a similar way to the likes of U2, they seem able to appeal to the masses whilst retaining credibility. And they always win album of the year. :P I guess its difficult to say quite why their music is so popular over some other bands... I think it's 'cos they just write really good hooks that grab people's attention.

Don't like Violet Hill, probably won't get the album, kind of finished with Coldplay for the moment.

It gets better every listen, it really does. This is the third album I've got this year which I love to bits, and it's my favourite so far.

Had any other music geeks noticed that Death is in 7/8 time at the climax bit? It shows how it's all a bit different, but brilliant with it.

I didn't know it was 7/8 but yeah, recognised the slightly odd rhythm straight away. I like things like that 'cos it makes you stop and think a bit in order to work it out, before you can sing along without going wrong. :P

I've always liked Coldplay, and this album is as good as the rest - I like the way bands change and evolve their style and present us with new and exciting variations. Music, like language, has to evolve and move on otherwise we would all get really bored.
