No, they weren't regular wallets. They were small leather cases made just for coins. They were kind of oval shaped and rather flat. Found a picture! Coin Purse
And yes...I spent most of my time in Cologne. Apparently Köln is the men's coin purse capitol of Germany. ;o)
ahhh, yes, those I've seen. But here, they're more like... granny purses. Not very popular, and not very useful, either, since the coins usually fall out, and someone has to help the poor grandma to find them... Sometimes girls use them, the "I don't want to be mainstream" kind of girls, but they usually prefer small purses like this one.
