Except for my Judge Joe Brown trip I haven't been further west than Colorado. I only hear how gorgeous it is but I gotta throw in some props for the east coast. It is also gorgeous.

NYC is amazing and should not be missed. I also adore Maine. We went to Bangor, Maine and NYC for our honeymoon and it was incredible. Maine is so picturesque, amazing weather, the water, mountains.

Boston is a great town.

Lots of good towns on the east coast, esp. for seeing American history- if that interests you.

Maybe do some time on the east, then fly to the west to drive around. There are certainly many great things to see in the middle but I think you'd get more bang for your buck if you mainly focus on the coasts.

New Orleans is also a wonderful town. It's not the same since Katrina but from what I hear (I haven't been there since that storm) it's still pretty great.

Austin rocks and we'd be happy to show you and the missus around if you do decide to drive through Texas.

Though I would recommend doing that in August. You cannot imagine how hot and humid it is.
