Never heard of the garter thing at prom.
Gladly, sorry to hear that things have gotten to this point. I really hope a match is found soon. |

Like the homecoming mum, it appears that prom garters are a regional thing.
Some web sites say the girl removes the garter herself, while some say the date removes it. I don't know what my school did, since I was not in the room. I took mine off myself and gave it to my date and would not have been comfortable the other way, as we were just friends and not even really good friends. Mine was black and white, to match my dress. Looking back, my dress was soooo 80's. A-symmetrical top, black and white polka dot skirt, with black satin fingerless gloves!

Oohhh black satin fingerless gloves huh? I think you need to share your prom picture with us! Here in Utah, garters are for weddings. the groom takes it off and throws it like the bride throws the bouquet. For prom here we just did corsages for the girls and boutonniers for the guys. |

Definitely never heard of the garter thing and I don't believe that is done around here. The whole removing the garter during a specific song sounds a bit nuts to me. |

A varnish put on paintings to protect and bring out depth of color.
Pro: Traditional
Con: Not removable, yellows with age.
(Don uses some kind of varnish that sounds like an airplane. B-52 or B-something or other.)
Nap because you wake up at the crack of dawn every day. |

Since I have last been on this is what has happened: Moved into a new place last week. Looking for a new bed so been going back and fourth home so I don't have to sleep on the floor. My back hates me right now. It still doesn't feel like home :( Thursday= terrible! Lost one of my jobs due to stupidity of my supervisor. They are assholes!! My car is acting funny (but I am hoping its the heat), my sister is getting a divorce, and I have been so stressed I have had zero sleep. On the plus side passed my class and after lots of tears and panic this week have managed to try and be positive about my situation. :) |

Just home from a few days in London. Had such a great time, saw Chicago and all.
However, I just found out that one of my best friends just bought the dress I had my heart set on for my debs/prom :( So now I have just over two weeks to find a dress and a date. Oh well. |

Thanks! I'm chuffed, was very surprised. I should be going out to dinner I think, and then seeing if there are any clubs that aren't full to the brim!
My sister just bought me a cake :D |
