Oh yes, the good ol' "is 20 a b-side" debate! It's right up there with the hidden track debate. :)
To answer the question about the need for a B-side album...for me, I like to have an album in my hands, look at the lyrics and artwork. It's a whole different experience than just downloading something from the Internet. I don't buy singles, so the only way I listen to the B-sides is through Travis.ography. Thank God for that Web site! I know there's a link to a huge collection of downloads floating around the board, but those file sharing sites NEVER work for me...I have no clue why. I just think it'd be a nice thing for the fans, and for Travis, to have something officially released. There B-sides are so good that they deserve a little bit of attention. It'd be a nice thing to have at some point...along with a new live DVD. ;) We're spoiled.

In no particular order:
1922
Whenever She Comes Around
The Connection
Used To Belong
Sarah
Life and Soul of the party
The Great Unknown
Definition Of Wrong
Blue On A Black Weekend
20
Enemy
Village Man
Know Nothing
Ring Out The Bell
High As A Kite
Chances
My Last Chance
Just The Faces Change
The Day Today
Hazy Shades Of Gold
:)
B-side album would be nice but a full collection would be better. Though it won't happen i'm sure.
Nikki! :) Still having problems then? Shall i send? Where? Send me a PM. ;) |

This is an awesome idea, and will be a lot of fun but.....just a few suggestions.
* Don't include the 'Song To Self' b-sides
* Only include Travis originals, and not covers
* Open it up to 'non-album tracks' as opposed to b-sides, which would mean songs like Say Hello and Perfect Heaven Space can be considered.
It's up to you though.... |

It will be at least a month from now that they're released as we have no date yet. |

I concur a full collection specially packaged would be fantastic. |

In the technical sense of a b-side, my opinion is that live versions of Driftwood and AIWIR should be included and Sarah excluded...
I'll be back later with the votes of the Swedish jury |

I just *have* to insert Perfect Heaven Space in the list, even if it's not really a B-Side, because I'm completely in love with it lately. In fact, it's number one.
1. Perfect Heaven Space
2. Used To Belong
3. The Score
4. Mother
5. Tail Of The Tiger
6. Back In The Day
7. Enemy
8. I Forget My Name
9. 20
10. Know Nothing
11. Good For Nothing
12. You Bring me Down
13. River
14. Life And Soul Of The Party
15. Only Molly Knows
16. My Last Chance
17. Ring Out the Bell
18. When I'm Feeling Blue (Days Of The Week)
19. A Little Bit Of Soul
20. You Don't Know What I'm Like

This was hard, but here are my votes:
1. 20 (A Travis classic!)
2. Sarah (Beautiful song, even though it's not actually a b-side ;))
3. Life And Soul Of The Party
4. 1922
5. Everyday Faces
6. Green Behind The Ears (Should have been on Good Feeling)
7. Villagemen
8. Just The Faces Change (Dougie at his best)
9. Whenever She Comes Around (The Glass Onion version is singel-material)
10. My Last Chance
11. River
12. I Don't mean to get High (Good melody, fun lyrics)
13. Combing My Hair
14. Unbelievers
15. High As A Kite
16. Standing On My Own
17. The Connection
18. When I'm Feeling Blue
19. Good Time Girls (Puts a smile to my face)
20. The Sea (Magic) |
