Creaky Boards KNOWS Coldplay didn't plagiarize them. And yet the video is still up? I know people can repost it but don't they have some responsibility to say, "oops, my bad?"

Check this douchey quote out:

"Soon after the video blew up, I received a call from Coldplay's manager. They were really nice about the whole thing and explained about their whereabouts and old demos. I guess the song similarities are just a coincidence...great minds think alike?

"Anyway, I must have been mistaken about seeing Chris at the show because all British people look the same. I lived in London for six weeks and I seriously thought every third person on the corner was Coldplay."

"...because all British people look the same."

LMFAO! >.<

I was just about to quote that! That's a stupid thing to say lol, it seems like he's so annoyed that Coldplay proved they didn't steal or plagurise it that they are doing the whole "they all look the same" thing which in my case I see as insulting, it's like saying we are all robots or something and have no personal features. I said before that some people say I look like Chris Martin but it's only a slight similarity but people do say that about how you look a bit like a celebrity but saying that all British people look the same is stupid. It's like one of us saying all Americans look the same, they really don't and Britain, like America, is very multicultural so how can we "all look the same"? =s I was just having a look through Creaky Boards' MySpace and thought they look okay actually, he seems like a decent guy but now I think he's a bit of an idiot saying stuff like that and lying too lol.

Yeah it was funny that you had just posted that sometimes you hear you look like Chris Martin. Maybe YOU were at that concert??

It's an incredibly rude and stupid thing to say and shows that he is a DOUCHE.

But back to your point earlier about sometimes "copying" is unintentional - like "Wonderwall" and WTRY. Both great songs and it's OK that Fran used the same chords. He made it his own and has never denied that he was influenced by that song. He even gave it a shout-out in the lyrics!

That's just the nature of art.

All British people should wear name tags in public so this type of thing doesn't happen again.

I think it's mission accomplished for these guys as you twats have given them exactly what they wanted, attention and exposure.

Of course Coldplay are totally original, the sound like no other middle of the road, adult orientated "safe" rock out there today. Chris Martn is a complete fucking genius wordsmith and probably has the best voice in the industry since the likes of Frank Sinatra. Of course all this pales into insignificance compared o the absolute rapture and exstacy that are the tunes.

Dubz

Well it's not exactly positive exposure at this point. They are proving themselves to be asshats so as I said before, I'll pass on listening to their music.

Devil's advocate.... nothing personal...

Could there be no such thing as bad press ??

Also myabe you won't listen but there's a load of lurkers and readers of the post who may want to find out either what the fuss is all about or make up their own mind, also blanket banning someone because they are an arsehole kinda means that you are not prepared to listen to great music just because someone is a wank ?

they probaly figure any exposure is good and it'll sell em like 5 more copies at their shows , so they get a little more gas / blow money

but back to wonderwall , you don't think oasis has let their influences show ?

lol I was definetly not at their gig. And yup, exactly, I totally agree as I was saying before, Fran didn't even go out to take their chords, like he said on Song Book, he realised and acknowledged it in the song and in interviews. It was just a coincidence and lots of songs sound similar, doesn't mean that it is plagairisum.

I think it's pathetic out of this Creaky Boards guy to be saying he saw Chris Martin, and they stole their song and now he has pretty much admitted to lying with his lame excuses.

Big deal. It's a messageboard and the debate over what is and what isn't song plagiarism is an interesting topic. I don't really care if it gives them exposure or not.
