Oreos are ok but nowt special. I haven't tried dunking them in tea or in milk. My biscuit of the moment is the custard cream. Fantastic. V nice dunked (in tea).

Showing my age here, but I think Oreos were first introduced in concept to the UK by Frankie Goes to Hollywood in the 80's. The song Americanos:

"Americanos, blue jeans and chinos, pepsi and oreos. Americano-o-o-s..."Pretty rubbish song!

They're ok. Wouldn't rush out to buy them. Isn't it supposed to be a widely accepted view that the US doesn't do biscuits/ chocolates anywhere near as well as the Brits???? :) (I love the US, don't get me wrong. Am just quoting something from someone somewhere at sometime in the past!!!)

On the matter of dunking, Natalie Imbruglia introduced Australian Tim Tams and dunking method, specific to that biscuit, to the UK a few years ago (corner to corner, and then suck!). Delicious, but they're v expensive to buy, so I've only done it once! Has anyone else tried it?

The tim tam sucky thing has been discussed before, in this thread

You should try dunking them in milk. It's pretty tasty.

I used to like to dunk Ginger Snaps in tea. They were hardy enough to withstand it.

Ok here goes me getting slated! lol

Don't fancy Oreos at all....especially the one pictured as I hate biscuits like that, they remind me of bourbons and that are gross. Also dunking a biscuit in milk is just wrong! lol Milk - nice, milk with icky biscuits bits - not nice.

Also I really don't get the whole Chocolate Milk thing over there, that would make we wanna throw up!

:D

There ya go, my contribution to this thread! hee hee

You've at least got to try them in the milk. I cannot stand the things plain and I don't imagine tea would improve on the taste either. I can't say for sure as I've never dunked anything in tea. Coffee: Yes, Milk: Yes, tea: never even crossed my mind. But I don't like anything in my tea...and I don't like Black tea at all.

I really wanted to hear opinions from folks over there, not just start an "I love Oreos" thread.

I am a "one dunk per cookie" gal so I don't get tons of Oreo bits in my milk. But I can see how that could sound nasty if you didn't grow up doing it.

oh and the low fat oreos are kinda gross.
I find that most fat/low sugar/low whatever things are similar in taste and therefore, why not do it, but low fat oreos are just so..blah!
Now i really want some oreos, but im baking biscuits at the moment (tea biscuits, not cookies)..speaking of which, they should be done about now...

Bah I don't want yet another American product on our shelves. We're happy with our Jaffa Cakes and Chocolate Digestives thank you very much. And it's not as if we force them on the American market.

But maybe I'm missing the point of capitalism lol.

I have to point out how humorous I find the name "Chocolate Digestive." It's not particularly catchy. Really anything with "digestive" in its name doesn't sound like something I'll eat unless I am having tummy troubles.

It's very interesting to see that Argentina's "snack culture" is more simmilar to the "US snack culture" (although some things they tried to sell here didn't prosper, like donuts) than to the British one.
Like someone said in this thread, I wouldn't dunk anything on my tea. I do it on coffee and chocolate milk (I don't like plain milk).
And I agree with Anne, Chocolate Digestive sounds like some kind of medicine to me. Apart from that, I really want to try British cookies now!
