I was a long time lurker on the Travis board, but I've popped over here a few times as well just to check things out. So, hello to all of you general chatters!

Hey lurkers/low number of post peeps,
Just so you know I wasn't trying to make you feel bad. I guess I am more curious why you would regularly come and read but don't feel compelled to join in the silliness.

Well, maybe that's because some people (me at least) visit the board often, read some threads and get so familiar with people posting, that don't realize they are no posting at all until someone like you look straight into their eyes and call them lurkers ;-D

I used to be the worst sort of lurker- visited the board at least once a day and wasn't even a member. I think I've made considerable progress, though I still occasionally show lurking tendencies...

Helloooo,
It's funny cause that subject get posted very often and has been for years. I remember that was the case on the old board, particularly in the summer before TBWNN got release as a lot of boardies started to get impatient and a bit less interested in posting.
Anyway, as I've pesonnally expressed before, I find that lurking can be great. To me it compares to beeing out with mates for drinks and sitting in the pub or bar listening to my mates conversations having a drink. Also, it's been said just before, often I find that I have NOTHING more to say that what's already been said in the posts I read hence the "I concur" which is probably what I say the most on here. I know I don't fit in the lurker description Weirdmum posted but I do visit here more that once a day and rarely post more that twice a week...
But I loooove it!
Happy SUN day lovelies.

Great article here about lurkers and that.

Lurkers, come out and post, contribute.

Don't just read and lol at all the funny stuff I say and then bugger off, come and MAKE THE LOLS HAPPEN.

Where did you find this? A bit odd to see that it's been researched, considering the "silent majority" of lurkers lol.

I think I only lurked a few days before I joined in. Now this is my primary source of adult communication during the day. (Is that sad?) Getting to know everyone and all the inside jokes is probably the hardest thing. Kind of like being the new kid at school in the middle of the year when friendships have already been established.

90% are lurkers, how do they know?
I also find that figure a little hard to believe, if that is indeed the case then their is probably lurkers out there who physically know you/me but never ever mention it??

Jimmy Carr :- 50% of accidents go unreported, how do they know they occurred if they weren't told?
