Ummmm... if 6 million people have read the book and more have seen the film, surely it should have worked on at least one person...

Congratulations if you're the one who does though :)

a cursory glance of the reviews and synopsys on amazon suggests this sounds like a piece of shit. I wasn't even aware of existance, which to me is quite humorous for a mass produced novel called "The secret". That's proper irony.

Good to see it is another western novel promoting such good old fashioned values as egotism, self gratification and greed. So why not read this book:

instead

Oh. I've always thought it's a "The Da Vinci Code" style kind of a book. LOL. Sounds crappy!

lol @ you!
I've just read few reviews and it amazed me how many people believe in such things. I think the most secret secret we can learn from Rhonda Byrne is 'how to write an useless book and earn millions'.

A friend of mine showed me the begining of the movie about that. I think it's a way to promote individualism and conformity. It hides the fact that domination and power exist in all human relations, that our lives are highly determined by our social conditions. It's really perverse and false.

My ex-boyfriend who is An Englishman gave to me the exactly same speech but in the movie`s favour by saying that the movie was showing us how our lives are being determined by our social conditions and that was the real perversion.

Iraida, if you agree that our lives are socialy conditioned, then you can't believe that law is true, it's a contradiction.
