I have one fairly arsey question, please don't take me too seriously:
Surely if you would like to go to Scotland it is because you want to see certain things anyway...?
Just a small point ;-)
Go to Hampden Park and kick some balls aboot. Obviously not on t'real pitch. |

If it is your first visit I reccommend Edinburgh, there's the Castle, The Old Town, loads of Pubs, National Art Gallery, Restaurants, the Camera Obscura, Arthur's Seat, Scottish Parliment, The Zoo, and it is geared for tourism.
but I personally would still go to Glasgow, it's more... authentic

I remember (only vaguely) there being a Whisky museum, too.
The Macintosh house and The Burrell Collection near Glasgow are interesting, if you're design/art minded. I like Edinburgh, the Isle of Skye... and don't forget Loch Ness (my hubby swears he saw the monster...). Loch Lomond is beautiful. Inverness botanical gardens for plant enthusiastics, the west coast has some nice fjords.
