"Somewhere Else" is another one I didn't mention. I think it could have been a single. There are so many... |

Somewhere Else
Eyes Wide Open

I have other favourites, but I could actually picture those as singles. |

But village man is already a bside!!!
So,i suppose a b side is a song without enought feeling to be an album track...
Eyes Wide Open is a good one...
i was thinking, big chair is a nice one, then i will change to Colder |

It´s a good thread.
My singles could be:
-"Eyes Wide open "( Some boardies thought like me ;))
I want to say "Thanks Travis for play Eyes wide open in Buenos Aires"!!! or Colder.
-Pipe Dreams :)
-The Humpty Dumpty Love song ( with this song I´m not sure...I´m between The Fear and As you are too, 3 are awesome).

Fran said at the Portsmouth gig that The Line Is Fine and Sailing Away should have been singles, so I'll pick these as they are brilliant, along with Somewhere Else.
ps - If I had to pick 4 singles now from the new album right now, it would be Before You Were Young, Get Up, Quite Free and Long Way Down.

The Line is Fine definitely. Total tune. And I love the guitar. To be honest, so many of Good Feeling could have been singles, it could've turned into "Thriller". Good Feeling, Good Day to Die, Falling Down or I love you Anyways would have stood up as singles equally well - only weak song on it is Midsummer Nights Dreaming (I HATE that song)
Pipe Dreams or Follow the Light off the Invisible Band. Maybe the Cage as a sneaky wee one, I love that song.
Of the B-sides Village Man still stands out. I remember Dave McCrindle lobbying hard at the time on the board, just before The Man Who came out, for it to be made an album track. Then apologising for that when the album came out, as it would've made no sense on there!! hehe |
