I once heard that the word Gringo comes from indigenous population watching the soldiers singing the cadence "Green Grow the Rashes Oh!", a famous sonnett by Rabbie Burns, as they marched....

although it may be an urban myth

On a slightly different subject, although linked....

Is this Billy Bragg - There is Power in a Union a traditional American tune??

I've heard the tune on a few things including ZZ Top in Back to the Future III

Champagne tie this one, Spurs v. Man Utd. Should be good. Liquid football!

On one of the Wednesday boards I go on we have a betting game where you have an imaginary tenner every week and a list of odds on all Prem games/Championship games/FA Cup when it's on. This week my imaginary tenner is on Spurs at 11/2. I haven't won a bet yet, but this could pull me right back up the league.

I'm nervous.

There's a 'pool website that does a thing I think it's seven "evens" bets turns a tenner into a grand...

the trick is to keep going, would you bet €500 on an evens??
