It's absolutely a cultural thing. For example, when I was travelling and staying at hostels everyone would go for a drink in the bar in the evening and it was the UK folk (and Aussies) who were the ones buying big rounds for everyone there, but the whole idea of buying a round seemed to confuse the North Americans there.

| Drinking is definately a social thing, i only drink when out with mates at weekend or at the pub. Its so you can have a laugh, feel more at ease and go dancing. It also gives you confidence to socialise and talk to the guy you like lol. |

Exactly! I know i would never be able to 'dance' in a club without alcohol. And let's face it nobody would ever pull anybody without the aid of vodka/JD/etc ;) |

i think a rule should be made that drunk people should only be allowed possession of phones that can ring taxi companies , ambulances and nobody else.

Definately, i went to our fave club the other night and we weren't drunk like we usually are by the time we go in there so i wasn't dancing...the end of the night is a different matter though! Not enough drink will ever give me the courage to pull the guy i want to whenever we're though lol |

We wandered into the ABC last night sober as nuns and stood at the side laughing at the drunk people dancing while spending silly amounts of money at the bar.
...which led to us eventually joining the massed ranks of drunken dancing some time about 2, and probably providing entertainment for the few sober folks there.
And yep I reckon there's some rule of the universe which means you can never drink enough to pull that particular person

You can't help looking at drunken dancing and want to join in, must be hypnotic! I reckon that person can never be pulled because they get stuck in the socialising circle, its getting to know them out of that that's the trouble! |
