When they start making the destinction between Queen Elizabeth of the United Kingdom and Queen Elizabeth the II of England then I might take notice. We never had a queen betty in Scotland so how the fuck can she be the second.

good point - 62p x nearly 60 million people is rather alot of money - 36 million quid
however, one thing to remember is there is no true english lineage
elizabeth I had no heir, and James VI of scotland (YES ENGLISH PEOPLE, 6TH!!) took over england as well as VI and I, and all monarchs are decendant from him - so on a mild technicality, (despite all the mixes) the current royal family is of scottish decent. True enough, charles II was the last one to be born IN scotland, but even the Queen mother was from just up the road from me (Glamis Castle, Angus)...
I liked when we had our own monarchy though - that ruled :D |
