I have absolutely no interest in seeing Avatar. I think the creature is ugly. I can't look at it for a whole movie. I don't even know what the movie is about.

I'm boycotting Avatar because it was a great big waste of money. I'm all for the arts...film, music, etc. But that amount of money to be spent on one film is obscene and I feel it could have been put to better use. And directors don't need that kind of money to make a meaningful or important movie.

i have no interest in it either, but more along kayte's lines. blue cgi things with no plot doesnt float my boat.

Cool Runnings is on tonight. that instantly improves both movies and tv :)

I was watching of all things Alias Smith and Jones the other day. It's not great but it is well written and pass-ably acted. Something I feel is sadly missing from today's TV.

That said Channel 4 showed a drama about Mo Mowlam the other day, It was FUCKING BRILLIANT !! Channel 4 used to make amazing Drama's and Documentaries as did the BBC (in fact the BBC were known all over the world for it) The BBC used to make a thing called "Scene" it was sort of dramas about life in general. It was made for teenagers about school leaving age probably for Social Sciences or whatever. Then you had things like Boys from the Black Stuff and Kes.

Now we get Dancing on fucking Ice, Big Brother, I'm a (Z-List) Celebrity Get Me In There !!

Even the Medical and Cop shows were better, Callum, Fitz, Morse, McCallum for example. Mind you the producers of these shows felt they had run their course and decided not to continue, something that sadly doesn't happen these days (See House, 24, Lost etc.)

As for films the last few "good" films I have seen have been foreign but then I'm not a huge film buff.
