To be honest, and it's a bit off the beaten track, but the LOTR films have amazing soundtracks.

Especially Return Of The King, with the battle for Minas Tirith.

The Matrix too, because it has Spybreak! by The Propellorheads, which is a mint tune.

You're talking about what is more commonly referred to as a film score. Let's save that for another time and thread. :)

"Sexy Beast" from GENIUS director Johnathan Glazer is one of my favorite movies of all time. The music for this movie is brilliant, totally fits it with what's going on up on the screen. It's rare i think to have great movies with equally great soundtracks.

I really like schindler´s list soundtrack, and leaving las vegas and million dollar hotel and... Ok i think i like too many soundtracks.
