I know what it's like waiting but I also understand that with them being American and having sold low amounts here they're probably going to want to play in America more.
I stick by it. ;) If you look at the archive, they used to play here a lot in the Man Who/Invisible Band days but I honestly feel they have something against playing here. They don't do any of the festivals here any more. 1 in about 8 years.
I'm not saying "come here instead of Argentina", of course I'm not. :)
it's their home crowd? So the UK crowd's better than the German or the korean one? or US one? or else?...still don't understand that argument :)
and of course they used to to there more - back then they were all living there and concentrated mainly on the UK...but now that they've got fans all over the world...
So they're Scots...so they're from the UK...so they're from the EU so they're from Europe...so they're from the world...where do you draw the line?...Exactly where you live...?
ahhh sorry..but this just made me mad...
so back to the subject...
as I said..i just think it's not good that they did no show at all this year there - but in generally i don't think you can grouch about something - just because you've always had it before..
it reminds me of Dudley Dursley's Birthday... |

They've certainly done more abroad than in the UK. Don't be silly Alex. Though, hmm, they've sold more albums in the UK than everywhere else put together. ;) In my own opinion, that counts for something. I just feel a few gigs here would have been best before they take a break. :)
Oh was I silly, sorry about that ;) I know that you're used to having 100-200 gigs per year, so I understand that 20 gigs feels like nothing for you. However I still think that it's good that other countries gets them. Better with 1 gig per country in the world than 200 in the UK and 5 in the U.S. Other fans can't be held responsible for record sales or promotion either, hopefully more albums will be sold worldwide with better promotion and abroad-touring. We just have to hope for a HUGE worldwide tour and a better promoted album the next time around Ben :) |

I don't mean to offend anyone. Sorry if that's the case. I want to see Travis more. Sue me! ;) :P

People say Glasgow crowd is the best as the band are from Glasgow. I understand why a Glasgow crowd for Travis, a Manchester crowd for Oasis or a Leicester crowd for Kasabian is considered best. I honestly think a home crowd means something. You could say Scotland is their country and you're right but when it comes to media exposure, record sales etc it's pretty much all the same thing across the UK. In terms of radio and TV etc. :)
They do have fans abroad and it's awesome. That's why I had the Argentina pic up until my beloved team became Champions. But they have A LOT more fans here. More fans, more gigs. That's what I think. :) I know people are looking at me right now as if I'm a lump of dog shit. I'm trying to be nice but give an honest opinion. :)
haha didn't mean you in general ;) only that "argument" you brought up :p
haha and wasn't it like that that the british press actually didn't like Travis' second record and wanted them out of the business..haha.....
never mind
i'm off

This comment made me laugh xDD. So did the one about Dudley Dursley, lol.
We know you don't have anything against any other country in the world, Ben. Don't worry. We just don't share your opinion :oP. |

No you're not a lump of dog shit, your opinions are ;) Haha lets agree at disagreeing shall we? :)
Ps. Claes is from Sweden so perhaps we should get 1/5 of the gigs? Or 1/10, as you probably don't consider him as a real member of Travis ;) |

That's fine. Obviously won't be joining any more campaigns for other countries now I know how people stand on UK gigs. :) Don't bother with Argentina Travis. Stay away. :) (half joke)
But honestly don't get this thing people have against them doing more UK gigs. As if they do loads. They certainly do not. |

Haha Ben don't get pissed :P Of course I want them to do gigs in the UK! It was the: "we deserve more than other countries because they're from here and we buy more records" - thing I thought was a bit offensive, that's all! |

:oO! That was mean!!!
Especially considering we were being quite nice, just saying that we dissagree with you, lol.
So cruel, Ben. Now I know who to blame if they don't ever come back here :oP.
Anyway, I must say I find it amusing that the example for "any other country in the world" is Argentina :o).
Edit: Oh, I see you edited your post. "Half joke", yeah right... |

If there's one huge fan from Zimbabwe he deserves to see them just as much as a fan from the U.K, doesn't mean he has to buy 5.000 000 copies of Ode for himself ;)
Now I'm only joking! |
