There was also a list of acts performing the Christmas Zoo, and Travis was mentioned, but there was no indication of how to get to see Travis, if at all possible. It was also unclear as to what date Travis is playing.
Would be v interested to know if anyone has worked this out.
I think it might be on Ben Jones' show tonight, they just ran a trailer for it on the radio.
I might just ring the station for an answer - after all, I don't really want to listen tonight if I don't have too!!! Will let you know if I get any joy :)
Update - I've spoken to one of the producers at Absolute. Not much joy - I'm still as confused as before.
What I've established is that there is going to be lots of bands playing throughout the day on Friday 5th. You can win tickets online to see either the Fray at 11.00am or the Rifles at 5.00pm. No mention on the website of Travis.
Apparently, they are going to randomly open up a competition phone line to win tickets for the Travis set during the listening day, today and tomorrow. No mention of when, so forcing you to listen uninterrupted today. Arrrrgggghhh - a whole day of listening to Absolute?!?!? Not sure I'm up to it! And still no idea of what time Travis is due to be on....
I have to say that the producer I spoke to, Brian from the Breakfast Show, was borderline rude. He couldn't wait to get me off the phone, even though he really wasn't making himself clear, and I kept asking more questions. We're all busy, Brian -doesn't cost anything to be polite!!! |

Cheers for the info. Absolute Radio is good if you give it a chance, playing the same sort of music as Travis and more. |

Trust me I have! :)
It's just a personal thing. I'll listen to Geoff Lloyd, cos he makes me laugh, but the rest of them leave me cold. The music is mixed, some good, some not so good - but that's entirely a personal thing, and there's no right or wrong.
As a complete aside, I took part in a market research panel recently. A group of 8 of us were asked to create the perfect music playlist for a music radio station (commissioned by the BBC for 6 music). It was a fabulous couple of hours, but I did learn that there is no such thing as the perfect radio playlist, and best stick to itunes!!! However, for me 6 comes closest to anything else I've listened to....

They have changed the date of broadcast of this to NEXT TUESDAY between 7-8pm, not Monday as previously advertised.
The gig itself is happening tomorrow at 3pm at Absolute Radio in London. |

The question is:
Why TWT haven't said anything about this event?
Well, I imagine the answer is related with this problematic situation about dates...
I hope this date announced don't be modified in the next days |

There's no problem with the dates. It's only a broadcast. I don't know if anyone is actually going to the gig tomorrow. Speak now, if you dare! :)

Oh no..
can someone record it? I won't be home before Wednesday...so I'm gonna miss it :(
Is it even possible to make a digital copy of a live transmitted radio session?
I'd be soooo greatful! |

I'm disapointed, when I saw this post I thought Travis were actually going to play in a zoo. It'd be awesome watching Travis surrounded by giraffes and penguins... |
