I can't understand some of the less than brilliant comments about this song. I think Andy's guitar playing in particular gives it a really atmospheric sound & like others have said very similar to 12 Memories tracks - but better.

| It's one of those songs that you need to listen to a couple of times to fully appreciate it. I like the way it changes "atmosphere" of the album after first 4 track that are pretty loud. Who would have though that the Bond theme inspired it? haha Great! |

Haha, I never noticed that, but now you mention it I can totally hear it!
Would love to hear a re-recorded B-Side with massive John Barry style brass!
I played the James Bond theme in a concert band once. It was like a medley of all the major themes everyone knows, bookended by the main theme. Absolute highlight was playing goldfinger. The trumpets got the "Wah waaaahhhhhh waaahhhhh" after the "Goldfinger". Cup mutes, the whole 9 yards. One of the few times you notice that you're smiling while playing the trumpet (Other time was doing Star Wars theme by the way)
Other thing about the bond theme - anyone else love what David Arnold has been doing scoring the last few bond movies? I love that he saves the bond theme for when bond is doing something properly 'bond'. Plus the whole way through Casino Royale you never got the theme. Right until the end, when he turns up and delivers the classic "Bond, James Bond" line. I was like "YEAH HE IS!". Great. |
