Charlie Bartlett. Was good. A story of a rich teenager weirdo. Don't worry, it is not about Paris Hilton xD. |

I was extremely impressed by Joaquin Phoenix' acting. Absolutely brilliant!

hah, I've seen that movie, it's really weird - don't know what to think of it...
I watched "Ae Fond Kiss" again today (third time), for my dissertation. Every time I watch it, I keep thinking: "hey, stop, show me more about the life of the MINOR characters, I don't want to see the (obviously-non-professional) guy with the broad fake smile all the time".
am going to watch "My Name is Joe" tomorrow, and I'm slightly afraid of seeing it. I mean, I know exactly what happens, I know the ending and everything, but I just hate suicide scenes (don't ask me why I used to like "Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself" ... oh yes I remember: because of Jamie Sives. Argh. WHO said writing a dissertation on "Glasgow"-movies is a good idea!?...oh yes, that was me (*damn*)... I'm SO going to get caught in the cliché trap...) |

I agree. His voice isnt the same as Johnny's, but no ones can be. He had the manerisms down perfectly though. |

Hahaha oh yes :P I dub it a premium movie! The book is really nice as well, though it has a slightly more serious tone than the movie. Alex's language in the book is hilarious too! |

I have seen "Milk" and "The Pope's Toilet" in the last couple days.
Like them both. Sean Penn is setting forth yet another incredible performance as harvey Milk. This is probably the most dramatic work Gus Van Sant ever made. Unlike the rest of his experimental filmography (except Good Will Hunting), you can say this one is a simple drama telling a real life story. Still good. Recommended!
And The Pope's Toilet is a little film from Uruguay. Nice and creative. Quite depressing but equally realistic. It is kinda way of telling how poor people tend to fill their lives with exagerated beleives.
Both are recommended. |
