Let's see songs I'm liking on this mix

I'm Amazed - My Morning Jacket

I forgot to ask you, are you enjoying Evil Urges? I know it was an accidental buy. I forgot to tell you about the soundcheck and how they played a song just for me. Jim James asked us if we had any requests and I went, "THANK YOU TOO!" They played it and then he pointed at me. *swoon* I probably would have gone with Touch Me I'm Going to Scream Pt 2. or Librarian... or Highly Suspicious... or Evil Urges. Whatever, I love this whole album

Rat Is Dead (Rage) - CSS

Home - Great Northern
Love LOVE this song. I think it's in a car commercial I saw during the Olympics. But anyhow, I first heard it while working at AE. It was on a CD in the fall. Do your songs have to be 2008 releases?

L.E.S. Artistes - Santogold
The Age of the Understatement - The Last Shadow Puppets
Skinny Love - Bon Iver
I love the sound of his voice. I've been listening to this song nonstop for the past week.

The Kelly Affair - Be Your Own Pet
R.I.P. BYOP! I hardly knew thee.

The Girl You Lost to Cocaine - Sia
Love this whole album

Ready for the Floor - Hot Chip
Do it, Do it, Do it, Do it, Do it, Do it, Do it, now

Run - Gnarls Barkley
Soul on Fire - Spiritualized
This album has been on constant rotation this past week too.

I would add some Elbow from Seldom Seen Kid. I really like the song, One Day Like This. Some Duffy, Warwick Ave. or Mercy (love that song!). The Fleet Foxes album is pretty good. Anything from Chris Walla's solo album. That Lykki Li song, Little Bit. I could go on... really

P.S. No Vamp Week? C'mon!

Hey, Two heads are better than one!

Ooo, I guess I forgot Vampire Weekend came out in January, since I put Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa on last years. ;)

*adds*

and Lykke Li and Fleet Foxes and Duffy and Elbow Too. (I picked Mercy and Grounds for Divorce though. Though I do remember snagging On Day Like this Earlier I just never put it in the playlist! Doh!) :D Any particular Chris Walla Song that I you would recommend? I only have the snippets on I-Tunes to go on and I don't think I've actually heard any of them before!

So your songs HAVE to be 2008 releases? Because Home - Great Northern came out last year. So did that MGMT song.

Hmm, well, I'm not always right. I usually go through it with a fine toothed comb at the end of the year and weed out the ones that slip through. I already caught a few. :D I might make exceptions if I reaaaaaaaally love the song, but only if there is a loophole like a difference in regional release dates (which is what happened a couple times last year I think ;) or if a single comes out late in the year, I'll go with the single release date or something like that.

Haha, I don't know what I was thinking with MGMT that came out way back in October! They're on the chopping block!

I know! I remember when I found that out. When I was creating my 2008 playlist, iTunes usually has an embedded code so it knows when something was released, so I made a smart playlist. I looked through the list and I was like, "Hmmm, no MGMT." And then I realized, It came out last year! Time to Pretend was my summer song. I can't believe it's almost a year old. I think that band had a slow burn blogger thing going for it.

Yeah! I'm bummed out now, because they're not on '07! I will have to create a mix just so I can have an MGMT song on it now...I'll put it on my random songs I like mix. ;D

I could have sworn I even looked it up several times and came up with some reason for adding it! Haha, I can't remember now!

*Must resist breaking my self imposed mix-o-rama rules!*

Come out, come out wherever you are!

Hey Dak, you inspired me to make my own Mix-O-Rama '08. I'm guessing the rules are it has to be released in 2008, and you get one song per artist?
