yup, today was the first day that the streets werent plowed by time I left for work. By time I got to the highway it was fine, but slip sliding through the 'burbs. Skid control is great. There is nothing in this world scarier than sliding through an intersection and your brakes do nothing.
Oh well, it looks pretty, my boots are leaky and Im going skating outdoors tomorrow. Wheeeeeeeeeee. I think it is supposed to be -16, so it will be quickly followed by HoCho. |

I can't believe people go out with temperatures such as -22º or -16º. I'd freeze as soon as I placed a foot outside the door.
Here it's very hot, as it is every January. The air conditioning is broken at work, but luckily, my office is quite cool. People in the more important offices are melting though :oP. |

ha, -16 is "warm" as of late. Actually Tuesday or something I left the house and thought it was rather nice out, and realized that is because it was -10, not the usual -20.
Ive barely had an occassion this winter where I breathe in an immediately cough, so i give this winter a thumbs up so far.
Except I dislike slush. And there is lots of it.
In other exciting news, Im wearing my new, kickass, purple lightning bolt shoes. They make me want to dance. |

The plows went by my house at about 5:00AM this morning. They made 4 passes. Streets were very clear and school was in session as usual.
Temps here are about 24ºF (or -4ºC), but the sun is out, so it seems a tad bit warmer. |

Today I learned that Niagara Falls is a lying jerkface, and what was advertised as an outdoor skating rink overlooking the falls actually had a giant tent over it. Booooo.
And babies, despite their poopiness and such, have adorable clothes and I can somehow spend an hour picking out an outfit for my friend's baby who is due next month. He was thiiiiiiis close to getting baby plaid. |

Temperature seems to be stuck between -10 and -16 °C here. This morning the trees were covered in thick white frost on top of the insane amount of snow we already have. It was beautiful, but I can't understand how it's happened, as the temperature is the same as last night.
Global warming, my foot! |

the minister for education here is a plonker.
i risked my life travelling to school in an ice-bound landscape where people are not prepared for it last thursday.
on friday a national decision which should have been done sooner to shut all schools til thursday was made.
now the minister has reversed his decison so i am back to work tomorrow two days early.

Today I decided I need to redecorate my room so I went to this cool shop with posters and spent about 20 minutes deciding if I prefer to have Audrey Hepburn or Michael Madsen as Mr.Blonde on my wall. Audrey won. Now I think I need the other one as well, just for the right balance. |

I just read that Miep Gies passed away at the age of 100. She was truly a heroic woman.
Hard to believe there are people in the world that are so evil, but there are always those that will stand up against it. |

I'm signing my estate documents today. It'll be quite a relief- it's bothered me for awhile that we had nothing in writing about what would happen to the kids if we both kick the bucket. |

I get them, right? Aidan sometimes loves me, then retracts his love, and then loves me again, and Cat and I are forever bonded by shoes. It will be fine.
Do they do laundry? |
