I am watching glittering slow shine thru the partial sunshine. Debating on whether to go out or not, wanting to go clubbing tonight (but not sure I wanna brave the cold). Hoping everyone started of 2010 right and is having a blast in this new decade! May it be better, wishing you all health, happiness, peace, and love. --Melissa x |

Yesterday I started a new photo project.
Today I'm done with holiday eating and starting yoga class.
Shaking an early 2010 funk. |

Mail order boots arrived on Friday and had their test this morning. Snow tires did their job. Colder than gee willickers out there today! Brrrrrr! |

Are you guys just getting snow? We FINALLY had a snow that stuck overnight. Not a lot, but enough to cover. I still dont have winter boots because I couldnt find ones that I loved, so i'm using my couple years old, well worn and never intended to be winter boots in the first place. Maybe I will find ones at the end of the season on sale. |

We woke up to a white winter wonderland this morning which wasn't so wonderful when I realised I had to go out and drive to work. The car was sliding all over the place, eeek - I'm not a confident driver at the best of times! |

We got about an inch or so, maybe a tad bit more. Like you say, just enough to cover. It's very light, fluffy, slippery snow.
The boots I got are not "ooo-la-la" boots, they are just utilitarian, ankle high, black boots for everyday use.
While we're on the subject of boots, why is the most popular boots those faux suede looking sheepy inside boots and knitted sweater boots??? You can't step in a puddle with those! This is Michigan, give me something slush-proof, people! |

We've had more snow that I can remember for years for the time of the year. it's also been really cold. We were in England at Christmas, and it was the same there, never seen so much snow there.
It's been around -15 °C and snowing here for a long time now, and when we came home our taxi nearly got stuck on our street. The street was like some tractor path!
To add to the general chaos a train escaped today and crashed into a building in the centre of Helsinki. It was sheer luck that nobody got injured. |

Uggs. I dont get them. They were designed for Australia surfers to keep their feet warm when they got out of the ocean. BUT THEY DONT HAVE SNOW!
And I love me some wellies, but they are not winter boots! My wellies are lined, but my feet would freeze in those all winter! And I've realized that they are hard to drive in.
I cant find anything that is both cute and utilitarian this year. Well, I can, but the cheapest ones I found that I like were $200 on sale. I'm willing to pay a decent amount for boots because I have them for a couple years, but that is a bit much.
edit: the snow is gone. How is it gone? it's -20 out! |

My main job right now (cos I am full time til I am back in school in a week) is doing in home care with mentally challenged individuals. Its very time consuming and sucks away all your energy lol. I also work at an art gallery (which I love) but haven't been there much becos we don't have any shows going on there right now :(. |
