I am from the United States and therefore geographically challenged, but...I don't think Mexico is in South America.

I agree, I think we call it "Middle America" in Finnish. And yes, I know I added some Mexican stuff here.

Ok, new attempt without Mexico:

Shadows on the sun
Another night's begun
It's always dark
In Luna Park
Wind across the moon
Electric storms and soon
A flying spark
In Luna Park

Pet Shop Boys: Luna Park
That's in Buenos Aires!

Aww, I didn't know they had a song about the Luna Park. How random. I love it. I've been to some cool gigs there. :oP

Yes, Mexico is not in South America. :oP

Braziiiiiiiiil
Where hearts were entertaining Juuuune
We stood beneath an amber moooooon
And softly murmured someday soon.

This one doesn't mention a particular place, but it's about Chile and Pinochet's dicatorship.

Sting, They Dance Alone

Why are there women here dancing on their own?
Why is there this sadness in their eyes?
Why are the soldiers here
Their faces fixed like stone?
I can't see what it is that they dispise
They're dancing with the missing
They're dancing with the dead
They dance with the invisible ones
Their anguish is unsaid
They're dancing with their fathers
They're dancing with their sons
They're dancing with their husbands
They dance alone They dance alone

It's the only form of protest they're allowed
I've seen their silent faces scream so loud
If they were to speak these words they'd go missing too
Another woman on a torture table what else can they do
They're dancing with the missing
They're dancing with the dead
They dance with the invisible ones
Their anguish is unsaid
They're dancing with their fathers
They're dancing with their sons
They're dancing with their husbands
They dance alone They dance alone

One day we'll dance on their graves
One day we'll sing our freedom
One day we'll laugh in our joy
And we'll dance
One day we'll dance on their graves
One day we'll sing our freedom
One day we'll laugh in our joy
And we'll dance

Ellas danzan con los desaparecidos
Ellas danzan con los muertos
Ellas danzan con amores invisibles
Ellas danzan con silenciosa angustia
Danzan con sus pardres
Danzan con sus hijos
Danzan con sus esposos
Ellas danzan solas
Danzan solas

Hey Mr. Pinochet
You've sown a bitter crop
It's foreign money that supports you
One day the money's going to stop
No wages for your torturers
No budget for your guns
Can you think of your own mother
Dancin' with her invisible son
They're dancing with the missing
They're dancing with the dead
They dance with the invisible ones
They're anguish is unsaid
They're dancing with their fathers
They're dancing with their sons
They're dancing with their husbands
They dance alone
They dance alone

I know tons of songs that mention places in South America but they're all in Spanish, so I'm not sure if they count...

What's new, Buenos Aires
Good news, I want to say I'm just a little stuck on you
You'll be on me, too

At the Copa, Copacabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the Copa
They fell in love

"Copacabana" Barry Manilow

I know this is about the NYC nightclub, but it takes its name from the place.

Thursday: Songs that are in English, but have some words in a different language. ("Jose, can you see" and "Hey there, amigo" don't count.)

Title are artist are sufficient if you can't write the non-English words.

Catatonia - Way Beyond Blue (partly sung in Welsh)

While there's a show left to perform,
Smooth down your hair and put your makeup on.
You'll face another night in two.
So close your mind no-one will follow you.

There in your eyes I see way beyond blue.
There in your eyes I see way beyond blue.

Mi fyddai'n disgwyl am y se^r.
Gwir yw disgleirio blw???? byth erioed. {help os gwelwch chi'n dda!!} Rinigol
????? ar dy ge^m.
A Twymder mwyn y gwirdeb bregus nes.

There in your eyes I see way beyond blue...
There in your eyes I see way beyond blue...

It's all so special... It's all so ordinary...
Way beyond blue...
It's all so special... It's all so ordinary...
Way beyond blue, what can I do?

Megus y galon foel ?????????????
sydd a bregus nef.
There in your eyes I see way beyond blue...
There in your eyes I see way beyond blue,
What can I do?

You point your finger at the faces (my family)
On this photograph
This is my father (he looks like me)
On this photograph
I don't remember (I was too small)
The day he went
Only the money and the letters (sometimes he'd call)
That he used to send
Nere varsam ayrincilik
Evden ,cikmaz ,cocuk ,coluk
Goozuum ya,sli i,cim yanik
Ah hollanda seni seni; vah hollanda seni seni
Now we're living in the same town (I like your face)
In this old back street
I hear the neighbours when they whisper (a different face)
In this old back street
Gak medisi oldu cellat
Aman doktor derdime bak
I,sverende yok merhamet
Ah hollanda seni seni; vah hollanda seni seni
Saglam geldik sakat oldule
Yabanciler hep horlandik
Bize ya,sam oolduu artik
Ah hollanda seni seni; vah hollanda seni seni
,Cifte kultur sorun oldu
Gen,clerin yildizi soonduu
Okullar cikmaza girdik
Ah hollanda seni seni; vah hollanda seni seni
Aylik duu,sduya,sam oolduu
Gocuk cocuk i,s,siz kaldi
Heciz kapimiza geldi
Ah hollanda seni seni; vah hollanda seni seni
Duuzen bozuk huzur hic yok
Sosyal duuzen oldu bombok
Robot geldi i,s,ci stop

NIts: Vah Hollanda Seni Seni

Words are flying out like
endless rain into a paper cup
They slither while they pass
They slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow waves of joy
are drifting thorough my open mind
Possessing and caressing me

Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world

Across the Universe- The Beatles

I always sing this part, "Jackaroo Dave."
A jackaroo being part jack rabbit and part kangaroo. Named Dave.
