I think its a matter of language issues cus bass guitars are guitars.
Maybe as 'guitar' you think of a 6-stinged instrument but in english its completely correct to call a bass guitar a guitar. So basically its the same, you only need to specify whether its a bass or not.
Well, i think its a matter of language.
For us, guitar is 6-12 strings
