I'm afraid so. Hey, I had to set a limit somewhere, otherwise we'd have people posting songs from 1986 trying to claim they're oldies. |

Boy, you guys are up protesting early this morning.
Okay, here's a good one protesting the subway fare increase in Boston. The Kingston Trio Charlie on the MTA
(Yes, I'm also a folkie.)
Barry McGuire Eve of Destruction
He looks nothing like what I imagined! I never pictured him blond. I think this is my favorite protest song. It's fun to sing it just like him. It also helped me on a science test once, because I knew what "coagulating" meant. |

Of course not. If it came out during my lifetime, how can it be an oldie?! |

I stand by the 1970 rule, even though it did rule out "I'd Love to Change the World."

No no! There's nothing relative about it. It's my thread, I started it, I make the oldie rule. So there! It's 1970. 1971 is modern times, man. ;-) |

But I wasn't talking about the thread per se, I was talking about relativity and how people percieve age/eras/etc. I once had a 19 year old tell a story about these old guys on the back of the bus and when I asked their age he said "I dunno about 24" , I was 23 at the time but wasn't considered an old guy by him, go figure
