Today is the 50th anniversary of Motown. Barry Gordy started the company with $800 he borrowed from his sister. I saw a Motown museum exhibit and they went all out for these kids to make them successful. They put them through etiquette courses and everything so that they would be "class acts" wherever they went.

The Supremes

Stevie Wonder

Smokey Robinson and the Miracles

You missed the Four Tops, and Motown wasn't all glitz and glamour there was a fair amount of gangsterism and drugs involved in the whole scene but they did make some wonderful tunes

anyway have some Nina Simone
