Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way [7p]
Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run [6p]
Johnny Cash - Cocaine Blues [5p]

Swede Boy, I think you were born in the wrong era.

My list changes all the time but I'm going to try to think on this.

Mine too, especially with a subscription to Spotify - I keep finding all the old 80s/90s cheesy stuff.

Here's my current one:

Flee - Paper Aeroplanes
Kingdom Of Rust - Doves
Don't Stop Movin' - Livin' Joy
Side - Travis
Call Someone - Thirteen Senses
It's Not War Just The End Of Love - Manics
Some Might Say - Oasis
The Boy In The Bubble - Paul Simon
Isn't It Midnight - Fleetwood Mac
and a really embarrassing one at number 10 - Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley

My list have already changed, but I'll let it be(that one probably should be up there). Hmm Spotify provide me with new favourite songs all the time.

I feel like some of mine are going to be sentimental favourites. For example, Turn probably isn't my favourite Travis song, but it is my favourite live song, and the first time I saw it live in concert, I went from liking the band to being....well, on here. Stuff like that.

Also, in no order. And I am going to edit as I think...

1. Turn- Travis
2. No One's Going to Love You- Band of Horses
3. Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promises- Avett Brothers
4. The Chain- Ingrid Michaelson (there are probably 2 other IM songs in contention, but I'm going to try to not repeat artists)
5. Queen- yet to be decided song. Maybe Killer Queen. Bohemian Rhapsody falls into that sentimental category though
6. Death Cab For Cute- I Will Follow You Into the Dark
7. The Weight- The Band (I prob like the Travis version more, but self imposed rules are rules)

more/edits as I think about this more

Seriously, I feel the need to explain things, don't I? I just don't want to hurt the other song's feelings :)

It's really very hard to choose only 10, but I'll try.

These are the songs that for some or other reason mean a lot for me, a kind of old and dear friends:
1. A Day In The Life - The Beatles
2. Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division
3. A Night Like This - The Cure
4. Romeo And Juliet - Dire Straits
5. Writing To Reach You - Travis
6. Motorcycle Emptiness - Manic Street Preachers
7. I Can Only Disappoint U - Mansun
8. Live Forever - Oasis
9. The Drugs Don't Work - The Verve
10. Heavens - James

In no particular order and this will change by the time I get to the end...

Sex Pistols - Pretty Vacant just cause it still rubs some people up the wrong way
Cara Dillon - Black is the Colour the voice on this lassie is amazing
The Pogues - A Rainy Night in Soho listen to the actual words and I defy you to find a beter Love Song
Johnny Cash - Hurt a cover of a Nine Inch Nails song turned into the "swansong" of a dying man
This Mortal Coil - Song to the Siren Did I dream you dreamed about me
Mogwai - Come On Die Young Sad Songs Remind me of Friends
The Proclaimers - Sunshine On Leith Another love song, beautifully sung by Hibs fans after they won the cup.
Madness - Wings of a Dove A good fun song, for simply dancing aboot like an eejit, how can you not dance to steel drums
Belle and Sebastian - Lazy Line Painter Jane a nice wee tune until you listen to the words and actual realize what it's about
Half Man Half Biscuit - National Shite Day It just wouldn't be my list if there wasn't a cynical diatribe included.

I tried to mix it up a bit with these and qualify why they are up there for me, I probably couldn't even pick 10 songs from each artist but this will have to do for now

This is a contender on mine. Was trying to decide if it cracks the top 10.

Tricky, and ever changing!

In no order:
Writing to Reach You - Travis (Side was close, and several others!)
Brothers On a Hotel Bed - Death Cab For Cutie (Kristy's I Will Follow You Into the Dark was pretty close)
Enjoy the Silence -Depeche Mode (Bottom Line and In Your Room bubbling under)
Fox in the Snow - Belle & Sebastian
Between the Wars - Billy Bragg
There is a Light That Never Goes Out - the Smiths
Bauhaus Chair - the Nits
Love's Not a Competition (But I'm Winning) - Kaiser Chiefs
Death Rays - Mogwai (this is quite new, maybe replacing Life in Tokyo by Japan)
Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division

I tried to choose some old favourites, Christy Moore's Missing You could've been there, as well as The Drugs Don't Work by the Verve, Cosmic Dancer by T.Rex and tainted Love by Soft Cell ;^)

I have never really been a fan of country music, JC wrote some wonderful stuff... Boy Named Sue, Orangle Blossom Special, Walk the Line, Folsom Proison Blues, etc., etc.

I was also gonna stick Willie Nelson's Always on my Mind on the list.

I like Johnny, but not much other country either. His is that old bluesy, rocky country though. With soul, man. None of that the truck broke down and my dog ran away stuff.

Get Your Biscuits In The Oven And Your Buns In The Bed.
Get Your Tongue Outta My Mouth 'Cause I'm Kissing You Goodbye.
I Got In At 2 With A 10 And Woke Up At 10 With A 2.
I Hate Every Bone In Your Body Except Mine.
Mama Get The Hammer (There's A Fly On Papa's Head).
My John Deere Was Breaking Your Field, While Your Dear John Was Breaking My Heart

I thought you were making those titles up until I got to "You're the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly." I've actually heard that one.

mm... probably:

- Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da - The Beatles (I know it's not exactly their best tune, but my dad used to sing it to me - dancing included - whenever he wanted to cheer me up)

- Here Comes the Sun - The Beatles
- Little Man - Sunny & Cher
- Layla - Eric Clapton
- Cecilia - Simon and Garfunkel
- Sounds of Silence - Simon and Garfunkel
- Castles in the Air - Don McLean
- Cannonball - Damian Rice
- Run - Snow Patrol
- Driftwood - Travis

I might have to change it a little, but most of these songs will probably stay be in my Top10 forever...
