Fran changes his mind a lot. He once said he'd never do a solo album.

The weirdest thing is that I remember reading an interview with Fran late last year (during the tour with Andy) in which he said he'd never do a solo album. But at that point he'd obviously written a big part of Wreckorder! :D Maybe he changed his mind and wanted to scrap the solo album idea and then changed his mind again and decided to do it after all.

I think the wording is just a bit odd and it's made some people panic. I also think we need to be a bit more patient - I've got a good feeling about 2011 (Hopefully it'll have lots to offer)

I agree. However, I must confess my heart ached a little when I read "his new band". :oP

Milos, thank you for sharing that interview! So it was Anything and Shadow Boxing... two of my favourites. Very interesting. :o)

Quote from article:

Healy's main musical project is the Scottish band Travis - a band for which he does almost all of the songwriting, along with lead vocals, guitar, piano and banjo.

He plays the banjo? Good to know it wasn't Andy. My bad.

See you in Camden Town :)

And for goodness sake quit your bellyaching. Last time I looked, a tour had just been announced - hardly a reason for wringing hands in angst. My guess is that Fran will have picked some shit hot session musicians and created a band for this tour to enhance his live show. What's the problem? Sounds like a great plan to me.

Embrace the change, everybody goes through changes. Maybe Travis will be back together again, maybe they won't. Whatever the band members decide will be up to them and for all the best possible reasons.

there are a few suspect bits in that article, just hope the bit about starting work with Travis is correct!

Pretty sure he played banjo on the Ode to J Smith Tour.

Was it on Last Words? Either that or Quite Free.

Yay. Going to Camden town.
Full band AND strings. Too good to resist.
Think of all those beautifull songs with strings.
I have been waiting for this for a long time.
Cant wait. :-)
