I've been waiting
Sitting here so patiently
For you to come over
and have this dance with me
And my number is Beachwood 4-5789
You can call me up and have a date
Any ol' time.
Beachwood 4-45789 The Marvelettes
For those who may not know, in the "olden days" the first two digits of phone numbers designated the area you lived in, and they had names. So, this chick lived in the Beachwood area. When you called, you used the numbers that corresponded with BE on the phone, then the rest of the number. I have no idea why anyone thought this was easier, but that's the way it was done. My phone number area was Dunkirk. If anyone has seen "Rebel Without a Cause" you will notice that Judy gives her phone number as Lexington 0-5549. |

Ric will probably beat me to this but...
Just Like Honey - The Jesus and Mary Chain
Listen to the girl
As she takes on half the world
Moving up and so alive
In her honey dripping beehive, Beehive
It's good, so good, it's so good, So good
Honey - Spacemen 3
Honey, won’t you take me home tonight?
Honey, won’t you take me home tonight?
Honey, won’t you take me home tonight?
The night is warm and the starts are bright
Take my hand, baby, hold me tight
Every move gonna feel so right
See the moon smiling through the night
I feel so good and my mood is right
Oh, honey, won’t you take me home tonight?

She was always young at heart
Kinda dumb and kinda smart
And I loved her so
And I surprised her with a puppy
Kept me up all Christmas Eve two years ago
And it would sure embarrass her
When I came from working late
'Cause I would know
That she'd been sitting there are crying
Over some sad and silly late-late show
And honey, I miss you
And I'm being good
And I'd love to be with you
If only I could
Honey by Bobby Goldsboro
One of the truly bad songs of the world
Maybe you wanna give me kisses sweet
But only for one night with no repeat
And maybe you'll go away and never call
And a taste of honey's worse than none at all

Billy Bragg: Honey, I'm a Big Boy Now
Now I can feed and wash and dress myself
And I can sleep without the light on
Honey, I'm a big boy now
I don't know what she does with all the money that I sent her
She's running round the town with the young pretender

I'm about to give you all my money
And all I'm asking in return, honey
Is to give me my profits when you get home
RESPECT--Aretha Franklin
Well, it's a darn good life and it's kinda funny
How the Lord made the bee and the bee made the honey
And the honeybee lookin' for a home
And they call it a honeycomb
And they roam the world and they gather it all
Of the honeycomb into one sweet ball
And the honeycomb from a million trips
Made my baby's lips
Honeycomb--Jimmie Rodgers |

We're made out of blood and rust
Looking for someone to trust without a fight
I think that you came too soon
You're the honey and the moon that lights up my night

Honey you are a rock upon which I stand.
And I came here to talk, I hope you understand.

You can take all the tea in China
Put in a big brown bag for me
Sail right 'round all the seven oceans
Drop it straight into the deep blue sea
She's as sweet as Tupelo honey
She's an angel of the first degree
She's as sweet as Tupelo honey
Just like honey, baby, from the bees

Many Rivers to Cross - Jimmy Cliff
Many rivers to cross
And it's only my will that keeps me alive
I've been licked, washed up for years
And I merely survive because of my pride
Road, River and Rail - Cocteau Twins
Love won't be forged
And was a fog, was them that cherished
Road, river and rail
"So embarrased, I'm not sure at all", lies mother's daughter
Truth is she found love
Road, river and rail

Crowded House: Hole in the River
There's a hole in the river where my auntie lies
From the land of the living to the air and sky
Left her car by the river left her shoes beside
Through the thorns and the bushes I hope she was...
Dreaming of glory
Miles above the mountains and plains
Free at last |
