Nah, score was 0-0 when Maradona scored the goal, then four minutes later he doubled the lead with probably one of the greatest goals ever seen. IMO Argentina then took their foot of the gas and allowed England back into the game, Gary Lineker pulled one back for them but they had been outclassed for the whole match and IMO were never going to be allowed to win the game by a superior team.

I really hope Brazil get knocked out of this tournament soon, their attitude fucking stinks, they have brilliant players and are capable of outrageous skill, So why do they feel the need to dive and scream blue murder every time the opposition goes anywhere near them.

I concur!

Look close at the guys on the bench behind Maradona.
I dont think Maradona is coaching the Argentina team.
His record at club football level was dreadfull.
They CAN easily win the world cup and probably will. ;-)

Thanks for the confidence! I'm pretty sure we won't win the World Cup, but thanks. :o)

Well, it's true we have a bunch of excellent players. But we used to have them before, and still didn't get good results. We played horribly in the qualifying stages, even with Maradona as a coach, and having wonderful players. But something changed once Maradona got to spend more time with the players, training. The players feel so much respect for him, they feel they have to play well for him, and it sort of works (at least, it has so far). It's something no other coach we've had in the past few years has been able to accomplish.
Don't get me wrong, I honestly can't stand Maradona, he was an amazing footballer, probably the best of the world, but I hate the "God" aura around him and his attitude like he's the best thing of the world and has every right to do whatever he wants with absolute impunity. And his coaching skills before this World Cup were dreadful. But he's done a good job, it's there for everyone to see, i.e. Messi never played well for the national team until these last couple of games (I'm leaving the last one against Mexico out). Maradona has something to do with it...

And I agree about Brazil.

I'm very happy Paraguay made it today. The way their coach was crying... I'm so happy for them. :o)

4 of the best 8 teams are South American!!! 5 of them are third world countries. I'm so proud, haha. :o)

Congrats to Spain. Portugal es un equipo tan amargo... except for their keeper, he did a great job.
Spain was more than Portugal (Villa is a great player), and with a lovely gift from the refs(Argentinians), has made it to the next round.
This round of 16 has been quite controversial!

Yes! Four out of five South American teams in the competition have made it so far. And the only South American team that hasn't, lost to another South American team. We rock. :o)

I'm so happy for Paraguay and for us all as South Americans!
Though I wanted Chile to beat Brazil :(

Please Netherlands, make us all happy and don't let them through! They're so annoying when it comes to football!!

Who said we're going to win the Cup?? Lol!

No one. I was just asking that out loud cause I'm sure everyone remembers how Argentina beat England in 1986...

Our goal was offside, that's right. Not as clear as Tévez's but it was.
I'm happy cause I think we did a good game. Some people might think the game against Paraguay is going to be easy, but I don't.

Bodi, fear not, it's going to be an easy game for Spain. :oP
However, how insanely awesome would it be if the four teams in semi-finals were South American?? *Dreams away*

So now there's two days without football. How boring. :oP
