Today the orthodontist told me that I was right on the borderline of needing TWO surgeries to fix my jaw but that he was pleased it didn't turn out that way.

I know he was saying isn't it great we don't have to do two but I was almost in tears just at the thought that I might have had to go through all of this again. Very grateful it didn't go that way.

Yikes! That would have been terrible! Glad you're doing well.

weirdmom, I tried to find the thread where I originally asked about your surgery. Glad to hear that it went well and sorry you had/have to deal with so much pain.

I am sad to be reviving this thread.

I have to have another procedure and right now it's scheduled for April 16th. It's minor compared to last summer's surgery but I'll still be put to sleep and be down for about 4 days. But no soft diet or anything like that.

Basically I'm not really progressing and so they are going to mess with the bone (I don't want to go into more detail in case squeamish people are reading this) because this will make the bone softer (temporarily) and will make my teeth and upper jaw bone move quicker.

I am currently in physical therapy for my jaw 1-2 times a week and am the only patient who had this surgery last summer still not fixed so something really needs to be done. Mentally, I am beyond done with this and am actually happy to do this surgery as it hopefully will end this. Also me constantly going to appointments is starting to cause some tension at work.

And oh yeah, I am moving and getting a duplex ready to rent out in the mist of all of this so that is awesome.

Fingers crossed that the surgery puts an end to all this Anne and that the house move can be a happy pleasant experience rather than the stressful nightmare it can sometimes turn into.

Exactly!
I hope this surgery means the end of all the jaw trouble. *Big hugs*
