For 'Friends' ......I am enjoying it sooooo much, all of you shine individually and together on this track. I always liked it from the gerbil sandwich entree ( an historic memoir :) ) but the finished article is truly wonderful . Doesn't matter how many times I play it, it sounds really fresh each play . Frantastic :))))

and this is adorable

I agree! It's subdued, kind of, but at the same time moves steadily forward. And it's really tight... no fat really, if that makes sense. But most important, it's just pretty, while being laid back. I think it's my favorite on Ode.

Exactly my sentiments. It is absolutely beautiful in all its simplicity.

I love the rather complex but delicate guitar-work in the tune, has a cool groove to it.

Nicely put ...:)

Now the lyrics...I have so far been interpreting like this :-

Wont love you and leave you ....to mend the fence

but I think its

Wont love you ....and leave you to mend the fence

or is it

Wont love you ...and leave you ...to mend the fence ( where it covers both !

What do you think? :)

I don't see any difference in the lyrics?

I think it's this. Love you and leave you is too common a phrase unless there's a double-bluff going on :)
