I can't wait!
When he tickets went on sale I was so excited but then we realised the gig clashed with a Hold Steady gig we already had tickets for - I was gutted! We looked into going to the Bath gig as it's near my parents house but it was too expensive by train, needed a day off work etc...

Then the Hold Steady postponed - it must be fate!!! Had a panic as it had sold out but now have 2 tickets in hand.

See you all tomorrow - make sure you say hi! I will be wearing the same tshirt in my pic! :)

I know the gig was a few days ago now but I have only just been able to get on here.

The Astoria was wicked! As always they failed to disapoint. We were stood 2nd row back in front of Andy (we have usually ended up in front of Dougie) and he was so entertaining to watch - my boyfriend was mesmerised by him I think! He rocks!

And what a great crowd - reminds me of what great people Travis fans are.
The only complaint was - I think people miss half the gig by taking photos - I have to say I am usually snapping away through the whole gig but this time I didn't take many - and I enjoyed it so much more giving the band my full attention. When Fran shouted out "have your arms been chopped off?" because not enough people were clapping at some point - I think it was because people were taking pics instead!

Deebee and Sophie - I think I saw you in the queue - Deebee had been to buy sandwiches!! Hope you enjoyed it :)

Also hi to the lovely ladies I met - and for helping me get a set list! Hope to see you at the next london gig! x

Oh and meant to say, the gig got 4/5 in both the London Lite and the London Paper - one of which didn't give the album a great review.
They can do no wrong in my eyes but just goes to show - to truly appreciate Travis you really need to see them live!

"Looking sprightly, singer Fran Healy and guitarist Andy Dunlop flailed around like a sixth form band, while bassist Dougie Payne dished out winks to the frint row"

"Songs from their new album Ode To J Smith got a warm reception, especially Before You Were Young, which featured a crowd-pleasing use of a huge gong"

"the album Ode to J Smith, a ballsy, back to basics effort"

"healy was in a buoyant mood, leaping from the top of the drum on Side. He went one better on Falling Down, singing the ballad from deep within the crowd "Don't touch the hat" he warned"

Hi!!!
It was an amazing gig, wasn't it? I don't take photos either so I can fully appreciate what's happening in front of me :-)
Yes Sophie and I were in the queue and I DID grab some sandwiches (I needed some pogo energy, LOL) It was lovely meeting up with her - hopefully we might get a chance to meet up with more boardies at the next London gig.

i posted this review yesterday:

hello helloo!

just got back from london and now i'm finally able to say sth about the gig.

i don't really know where to start, though. let's try it this way... me and my boyfriend came all the way from germany to see the guys. we met two people from the coldplay messageboard and queued up really early, like 3 pm. so yeah, since we also went sightseeing the day before, it was exhausting, but totally worth it, because we made it to the front row, andy's side :)

this was my 2nd travis gig (saw them last year in hamburg) and what can i say? it was the best gig i've ever been to. seriously. it topped the two coldplay concerts i went to a few weeks ago. the atmosphere was just awesome, the sound was so great and you could tell that the guys were having so much fun. also, i was really thrilled to hear re-offender and falling down live.

gah. what a night it was. later we were waiting at the backstage entrance and that was when we bumped into CHRIS MARTIN! i couldn't believe it, i still can't. he was so nice =) i was a bit sad i didn't get to meet fran again, but hey, i guess i shouldn't complain, eh? i heard the guys were having a nice aftershow party.

well, now i'm back and there are so many amazing moments i will remember for a very long time. it was worth every single cent i spent for the trip. i'd do it again anytime, and i'm sure i will.
and i so hope the guys will be back in northern germany soon. fran? please! ;)

thank you so much, travis!
